Government Canyon State Natural Area has more than 40 miles of hiking and biking trails that range from remote rugged canyon lands to gently rolling grasslands.

Biking
A network of biking trails ranging from 3-5 miles per trail. The terrain varies from canopy-covered rolling trails to pretty tough climbs.

Camping
Overnight camping is allowed on weekends and some holidays. Options include regular walk-in campsites, and group walk-in campsites.

Trail Running
Run where the dinosaurs once roamed on our extensive network of trails or participate in the the annual 15K / 8K Recharge Trail Run.

Bird Watching
For those looking for a place to go bird watching, Government Canyon is a good place to find the elusive and endangered golden-cheeked warbler.

Picnics
Government Canyon offers 10 picnic sites with restrooms nearby including the group picnic pavilion.
